This stunning Emu egg music box was created to honor our hounds who have fought cancer. Its imagery pays tribute to those who lost their fight and were freed to frolic whole and happy at the Rainbow Bridge. The hound figurine, a very realistic Darcy, represents the survivors, who remind us every day is a gift. Artist Lynne DeBoer (http://www.theelegantostrich.com/)worked with Lori to interpret these themes in a unique work of art - the egg is hand painted in beautiful shades of blue and green, with exquisite attention to detail. It is hinged, and opens to reveal the winding mechanism for the music box. The inner surface is lined with sequins - each individually applied with painstaking delicacy. The egg is supported on the wings of two angels. The egg itself measures about 6" tall and 11" in diameter. The acrylic base is 6.5" tall and 3" x 5" wide. Overall height is 11.5". Donated by Greyhound Angel Network www.greyhoundangel.comStart bid is the reserve of $225.00 (this egg is worth well over $500)
